Pain and Fear do not excuse meanness
When we are tired, scared and in pain, it’s very easy to lash out at the closest people around us but we need to stop and take a step back.
The nurses, administration, aides, staff… Every single person working in health care deserves to be treated with respect and gratitude.
If you’re waiting, if you’re hurting, it’s not their fault. They are trying to help you. It’s not just their job but their purpose because no one goes into health care because they don’t care about people.
From the bottom of my heart, I am and will always be eternally grateful for the care I’ve been receiving here at St. Boniface Hospital. I get to go home tomorrow… 5 days after major surgery because I’m doing so well and it’s all because of the care I’ve received from the amazing nurses, health care aides and students here on the 7th floor.
Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Attitude goes a LONG way in healing.
